Why do we call them babes? We affectionately refer to our puppies as "doodle/bully babes" because they truly embody that endearing essence of innocence and charm. Our brand is dedicated to celebrating our puppies and the nurturing environments they deserve. Everything we provide for their care is designed with love and attention to ensure they thrive in their new homes.
-
When do the babes head home? Our doodle babes are ready to join their new families as early as 8 weeks old. They come fully equipped with a starter pack containing essential items such as a microchip, vet documents, health insurance, kibble, a scented blanket, and some additional goodies to help them settle into their new homes.
-
Bringing Doodle Babes HomeMoving your new doodle babe into your home can be a bit overwhelming during the initial days. It's crucial to maintain a quiet and calm atmosphere to ease their transition. Start by providing a safe space, such as a crate, where they can feel secure. Establishing a consistent schedule for potty breaks and naps will also help them settle in smoothly. Your go home packet will have ample amounts of information on this process, so you can be prepped and ready but have something in hand to refresh your memory when needinghelp!
-
How long are they with mom?Puppies stay with their mom until around six - to seven weeks, then they start gaining some independence, experiencing various sounds, objects, and daily routines for seamless adjustment to new homes and stable temperaments, while seeing mom over time much less. They start weaning onto mush around 4.5 weeks of age and eating hard kibble around 6 weeks of age.
-
What does their vet exam and documents consist of?The day our puppies turn 6 weeks old, they undergo a thorough veterinary exam, receive their first vaccines, and a fecal check. We do all our deworming at home. They then receive a health paper confirming their health at 6 week appointment time, and then head back to the vet on there 8 week mark for a 2nd round of vaccines, fecal check, exam and another health paper. Once this is done at 8 weeks, puppies are clear to head home. Our health papers include essential details like the puppy's microchip number, date of birth, color, vaccine records, fecal check and examination dates. We ensure each puppy is microchipped early, with verification by the vet for accuracy. For routine care, including vaccines and health papers, we now use Covington Veterinary Care with Dr. Andrew in Andalusia, Alabama. You can pick up your puppy with a basic health paper if the puppy is not flying or with a transporter. If flying or with a transporter, a transport health certificate will be require at 8 weeks of age, and is additional $30.

Where are the babes raised? We rear our doodle puppies in our whelping house, designed to resemble our own home. Our children actively engage in caring for and socializing with the puppies. When the puppies reach three weeks of age, they transition between the whelping house and our residence, and their puppy yard, exposing them to varying environments and interactions with our family and personal dogs.
-
Deworming Protocols!Weekly deworming with strongid, followed by Panacur at four and six weeks for 3 days in a row and again for 5 days before vet visits, ensures a healthy start. At 8 weeks they will have a ivermectin dose, for heart worm prevention as well, all noted in their folders for you. Vet checks, vaccines, and a health paper at 8 weeks are standard. We use Toltrazuril for coccidia prevention and treatments, and febendazole for all other worms. After eight weeks, we continue deworming the puppies for 5 to 7 days before they go to their new homes and go to their vet visits, to ensure they’re parasite-free. In Florida, hookworms are particularly problematic due to their resistance, so persistence is key to eliminating them. Every 3 to 4 weeks, we administer Panacur for 3 to 5 days and give a single dose of moxidectin. This routine helps keep hookworms under control by targeting them at various stages of their life cycle.

Older Puppies - What's the catch? Our older puppies are typically priced higher due to the extra care and attention they receive while waiting for their new families. By the time they’re ready to go home, they often have received several rounds of vaccinations or have completed their entire puppy vaccination series, along with multiple vet exams and fecal checks. Additionally, many of these puppies have a foundation in basic training, or they may already be enrolled in advanced training programs, which is included in their purchase price.

What does the guarantee cover? At Wonderlands Boujie Kennels, we stand behind the health of our puppies with a four-year genetic guarantee for genetic diseases. Through comprehensive testing, we ensure that the all of our doodles are DNA clear, some of our bullies are DNA carriers for non threateing ailments. Our four-year genetic guarantee covers both hips and elbows. If a dog is diagnosed with life-altering dysplasia or a serious genetic condition within four years, we offer a replacement option for another dog of the same quality. We strictly avoid including any "affected" dogs in our breeding program to maintain the highest standards of health. Our genetic guarantee specifically covers eyes, heart, and genetic diseases offering peace of mind to our families.
-
Guarentee and our contractTo maintain the health guarantee, owners must wait 16-24 months before spaying or neutering their dogs. Performing the procedure earlier voids the guarantee, as allowing dogs to mature naturally before hormonal changes contribute to their overall well-being. Contract Return Policy: Our contract provides a three-day window from the time you receive your puppy to have a vet visit. If, during this period, the vet identifies any life-shortening condition, we offer a full refund upon the return of the puppy within that 3 days. For genetic issues or concerns related to the heart or eyes that arise within the first four years, we honor a partial refund or will accept the return of the dog. If, within the three-day window, you decide to return the puppy for reasons unrelated to health (such as simply not bonding with the puppy), we offer a refund minus a $500 deposit. After the three-day window, no refunds will be provided for decisions related to no longer wanting or being able to keep the puppy.
-
What is health testing? How does it vary from a vet exam?Health testing our parent dogs for breeding involves more than just a routine vet exam. It entails a comprehensive examination that is then submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals for evaluation of hips, eyes, cardiac health, and patellas. Upon assessment, the foundation provides certification of passing grades, aiding us in distinguishing between pet quality and breeding quality dogs. This rigorous process allows us to uphold a four-year genetic health guarantee in our contracts, ensuring that we produce puppies free from birth defects. Additionally, we conduct DNA testing on our parent dogs using platforms such as Wisdom Panel and Embark DNA.

Should we get training for our puppy? With 15 years of full-time experience as professional dog trainers, alongside our breeding endeavors, we prioritize raising puppies to excel as quality companions and potential service dogs. Our lineage has produced numerous service dogs. We emphasize to all prospective owners the importance of training, whether through our services or puppy classes, or learning to train at home. Puppies, like Tasmanian doubles, naturally require leadership and guidance to thrive. The future excellence of your puppy hinges on the foundation laid and the ongoing upkeep as they grow with you.
-
Have you produced Service Quality dogs? Thanks to our extensive expertise, we've bred several service-quality dogs that owners have successfully trained themselves or through other trainers. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive puppy training program where we've trained numerous service dog prospects, providing families the flexibility to choose their preferred direction.
