Weaning Process at WBK

We've begun the process of introducing puppies to mush here at Wonderlands Boujie Kennels!

We initially feed them twice a day, gradually increasing to three times daily. Mom continues to have access to them twice during the day and throughout the night until they reach approximately 6 weeks of age.

The mush is comprised of goat's milk, baby oatmeal, with added flavors like banana and strawberry, a touch of coconut oil, and water. We prepare it as a loose slushy consistency, gradually thickening it over a week. At five weeks old, we introduce soaked kibble into their diet. However, from 3 1/2 to 4 weeks old, we maintain a consistent slurry with baby cereal, goat's milk, coconut oil, and water.

The baby cereal serves multiple purposes; it provides them with essential iron, doesn't overwhelm their digestive systems, and helps maintain stability in their bowel movements. 😉
