A lot of dedication has gone into developing our Whoodle bloodline, and I’d love to share the journey with you! Every step has been thoughtfully planned to ensure we’re producing exceptional, healthy Whoodles with wonderful temperaments.
We started with a beautiful Wheaten mama who had one litter with us. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep any pups from her, which I regret now because she produced such lovely puppies. So, I decided to rebuild our bloodline from scratch, but with a fresh perspective and more intention.
Our Foundation
All of our foundation Poodles came from Dugan’s Poodles in Crestview, Florida. I began by bringing Oaklynn into our program, a stunning 40-pound Standard Poodle from Naomi at Dugan’s. Oaklynn was bred with a local 30-pound Wheaten, Otis, and together they produced two beautiful litters. From the first litter, I held back Papaya, a small female with a perfect build and temperament. At 22 pounds, Papaya is the ideal size for families who enjoy traveling or want a “lap-sized” dog. Being an F1 Whoodle, she’s a perfect 50/50 blend of Poodle and Wheaten.
Papaya’s Legacy
Papaya has since had four litters, each one exceptional. I kept a female from her third litter to continue her legacy and retained a different-colored female from her current (and final) litter. This careful selection has helped me establish a line that reflects both beauty and consistency. To ensure our bloodline’s health, both Otis and Oaklynn were OFA certified for hips, elbows, cardiac, and eyes, and Papaya and her mate Rolex have also undergone full health testing.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to expand our line with a breeding planned next year using an F2 Whoodle stud, which will bring us closer to establishing a true multigenerational Whoodle line developed solely within our program. By keeping select puppies back, we’re able to know exactly what we’re producing genetically and temperamentally, setting a solid foundation for future generations.
What Makes Our Whoodles Special
Whoodles are fantastic family dogs, known for their gentle, friendly personalities. When properly socialized, they get along well with other pets, are wonderful with children, and adapt easily to various living environments, from apartments to ranches. Many of our Whoodles are thriving as therapy and emotional support dogs, providing comfort and companionship to both young families and seniors.
Our Whoodles reach an adult weight of about 18-25 pounds, with most settling around the same 22-pound mark as their mom, Papaya. We’re transparent about potential size, letting families know to expect slight variations to ensure no surprises.
